The Telephone Exchange, Georgetown

The Post and Telecommunications Department of British Guiana maintained and operated the inland public telephone. telegraphy and radio systems. The main telephone exchanges were in Georgetown, New Amsterdam and Mackenzie. There were also sub-exchanges, call offices and private exchanges that ensured a widespread accessibility of these services.
